Obituary

Larry Nicholas Fealy passed away in Giddings, Texas on March 16, 2015 at the age of 80. Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy; his father, Joseph Fealy; his mother, Helen Jay; his brother Richard Thorne; his brother Lloyd Thorne; his brother Kenneth Thorne; and his brothers-in law Raymond C. Kerns, Robert Kerns and Lauris Murry. Larry is lovingly remembered by Jim and Raylene Fealy, Vicky Fealy, Cindy Barker, Joe Fealy, Lucy Thorne, Carol and Bill Shortridge, Connie and Leroy Smith, Doug and Kathy Thorne, Brent Dunlap, Brian Dunlap, Rob Greenwald, Marty Greenwald, Carrie Ullery, Michele Logsdon, Paula Dent, Connie Partee, Kelly Williams, Gerald Kerns, Carolyn Murry, Dennis Murry, Mike and Patte Murry, Gloria Murry, Steve and Tammy Murry, Michael Murry, Daniel and Jenna Murry, Steven and Katy Murry, Dottie Kerns, Carol Kerns, Noel Kerns, Grant Kerns and countless treasured friends. Larry was born in London, Ohio on January 10, 1935. He graduated from Central High School in Xenia, Ohio in 1953 along with his future wife, Peggy. He joined the Air Force in 1954, became a pilot and retired as a Major in 1974. He was a highly decorated veteran and was awarded the Silver Star in 1966. The Silver Star is the third-highest military combat decoration that can be awarded to a member of the United States Armed Forces. It is awarded for gallantry in action while engaged in action against an enemy of the United States. Larry traveled extensively with the Air Force and spent seven years stationed in England. After retiring from the military, Larry graduated from St. Edward's University and embarked on a second career as an accountant for the State of Texas. He and Peggy retired to Georgetown, Texas, but visited Ohio often. Despite his many years of travel, Larry always consider himself a hometown boy from Xenia. Larry was fondly known for his wit, sense of humor, humility, compassion, wise counsel and ever twinkling Irish eyes. Services will be held at Neeld Funeral Home in Xenia, Ohio on March 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 P.M. The burial will be at Woodland Cemetery.
