Leona J. "June" Eldridge, 86, of Xenia, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was born June 1, 1928, in Adams County, Ohio, the daughter of George and Donna Boggess Freeland. She was a member of the Xenia Church of Christ and was an Avon cosmetics representative for over 30 years. She is survived by six sons and daughters-in-law, C. David (Joyce) Eldridge, Birmingham, AL, Michael G. Eldridge, Xenia, Paul Alan (Cherie) Eldridge, Spring Valley, Phillip D. Eldridge, Bellbrook, Stephen (Marcy) Eldridge, Edmond, OK, and Timothy B. Eldridge, Xenia, three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda (Jeffrey) Stitt, Zanesville, Donna (Don) Little, Blairsville, GA, and Angela Eldridge, Centerville, eighteen grandchildren, Marc (Erin) Stitt, Luke (Betsy) Eldridge, Joe (Mandy) Eldridge, Shawn Loss, Shannon Loss, Isaac (Brett) Eldridge, Bethany (Tom) Brogger, Claire Eldridge, Hannah Eldridge (fiancé, Matt Glenn), Maygan (Chase) Ralston, Maxwell Eldridge, Olivia Spencer, Amelia Spencer, Samuel Spencer, Caleb Eldridge, Haley Eldridge, Maggie Eldridge, and Makenzie Eldridge, nine great-grandchildren, Julia, Evan, Caroline, David, Elizabeth, Everett, Matthew, Alexandra, and Joshua, a sister, Ann (Chuck) Malone, Miamisburg, a brother, Richard (Bonnie) Freeland, West Union, several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends, including a loving friend, Joyce Scheerschmidt. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George E. Eldridge, on June 6, 2007, and by a sister, Irma Moore. June will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 10am, Friday, October 24, at the Xenia Church of Christ, 444 Country Club Dr. Xenia, with C. David Eldridge officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
