Obituary

Lucille (Drummond) Starr Davis, 94, of Spring Valley, passed away Friday, June 6, 2014, at Quaker Heights Care Community, Waynesville, She was born March 2, 1920, in Warren County, Ohio, the daughter of John Roy and Bessie Jane Cryder Drummond. She was a member of the Spring Valley Friends and retired from NCR and the Xenia City Schools. She leaves behind two daughters, Sonja K. (Starr) Peterson, Spring Valley, and Linda G. (Starr) and David Overturf, Wilmington, five grandchildren, Amy G. Curry (Diane Nuxhall), Puyallup, WA, John R. (Kendra) Peterson and Theresa (Darin) Dodge, all of Spring Valley, Micah Sagraves, Jackson, MI, and Missy (Rob) Frost, Jamestown, fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandbabies, a brother and sister-in-law, Dwight (Marjorie) Drummond, Wilmington, by several nieces and nephews, and by many other close family, and euchre playing friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her first husband, John V. Starr, in August 1965, her second husband, Leonard C. Davis, in July 1982, and by a special companion of 23 years, Maurice Rock, in January 2011. Lucille will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 1:30pm, Monday, June 9, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. Gary (Sandi) Maynard officiating. Visitation will be held from 12noon, Monday, until service time. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery.
