She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law Robert and Lois Downing, by her daughter Brenda Kay Okrent, and by a brother, James Pierson. (Christy) Sullivan, twin sister, Mary Molitor, sister-in-law, Susan Mobley, seven grandchildren, Ashley (Colin), Mara (Lance), Cori, Dana, Patrick, Josh, and Abby, four great-grandchildren, Chloe, Maron, Elliott, and Nash, by many nieces and nephews, and by a special person in her life, Tina. Mabel was a 40+ year member of the former North Side Christian Church, and attended, when her health permitted, the First Church of Christ. As we say goodbye, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the love Mabel (“Meme”) so freely gave, for the courage with which she lived, and the incredible imprint she leaves behind. She will be missed dearly, cherished always, and remembered forever. Mabel’s love for others will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Private services will be held by the family in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
