Marcella Jeanne (Rutherford) Helgeson, 96, of Xenia, Ohio passed away peacefully at Willowbrook Christian Village, Delaware, Ohio on Feb. 6, 2024.

She was born in Belle Point, Delaware County on Dec. 8, 1927, the daughter of Goldie and Elbridge Rutherford.  She is survived by three sons: David (Sandy) Helgeson, Indian Lake, OH, Steven Helgeson, Olympia, WA, and Christopher (Jeanne) Helgeson, Norwalk, OH.  She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene W.  Helgeson, age 94, and her youngest son, Jerry (Bobbi Ann) Helgeson of Lancaster, SC.

Marcella is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Marcella Tyree, Emily Swift, Andrew Helgeson, Katherine Cramer, Shelly Helgeson Wise, Heather Nadolny, Heidi Hovestaedt, Christopher Helgeson, Jr, Ashley Helgeson and Robert Helgeson, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and close friends.

Marcella was a long-time resident of Xenia, Ohio, having lived in the same home from 1955 to 2017.   Her passions included raising 4 active sons, playing bridge, ballroom dancing, and socializing with friends and neighbors.

She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.   A Celebration of her Life will be held with family and friends at a later date.
