Marcus W. Shoup III (Feb. 3,1939---June 27,2014) passed away at the Dayton VA Hospice Facility. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Dorothy Shoup He graduated from Saint Brigid High School, Xenia, in 1957 and attended the University of Dayton. He was a former employee of Penn Central Railways here in Xenia and Roadway Express in Cincinnati, Ohio. Marcus enlisted and served a number of years in the United States Army. Surviving are his seven brothers and sisters, Julia Reed, Xenia, Mary Spangler (C. Gregory),Bryan, Oh, Adele Daskalakis, Xenia, Elizabeth (Barry) James, North Huntingdon PA, Anne M. Shoup, Xenia, Stephen Shoup, Columbus Oh, Karen Leon, Xenia, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Diane and Robyn Harlow. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Neeld Funeral Home, Xenia. A private military memorial prayer service will be conducted at the Veterans Administration cemetery in Dayton at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. The family wishes to express deepest gratitude to the VA Hospice MDs, the attending nurses and staff for their vigilant care.
