Obituary

Margaret Shelton Broerman, age 84, departed this world to be with her heavenly Father on November 15th, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Margaret is the daughter of Della and Lloyd Meadows She was born on November 21,1929 along with a precious twin sister, Maxine, who proceeded her in death after fifty years of creating fond memories together. She is also proceeded in death by her dear husband ,Eugene Shelton, to whom she was married for 47 years, her dear parents, brothers and sisters. Margaret was an extraordinarily sweet and lovely woman who was a loving daughter, caring and fun sibling, devoted wife, outstanding mother , special grandmother and great grandmother, and steadfast friend She taught elementary school for over 35 years(over 27 at Spring Hill for the Xenia Schools) touching the lives of hundreds of children and was adored by her students, admired by their parents and highly respected by the staff. Not only was Margaret a physically beautiful woman, but she was a beautiful spirit whom everyone loved. Additionally she was second in her college graduating class and obtained a master's degree in education along with many recognitions for high quality academic or volunteer work. After the loss of her husband, Margaret was married to Joseph Broerman for fifteen years and they enjoyed traveling, dancing, and laughing and gathering with friends and family. Margaret is survived by two daughters Gerri and Patty(husband Nick) who were fortunate and privileged to have been raised by such a nurturing , caring, supportive and intelligent mother. A mother who was a role model to them, her grandchildren , her great grandchildren and her over a thousand students .Also, she is survived by her dear, dear grandchildren Natalie Bowen Allen(husband Joe), Evan (wife Sara) & their children Brayden Springer and Jaylyn Bowen( her first great grandchild.) , and grandchildren Derek Nickoson , and Alexandra and Abby and numerous members of the Broerman family. She was an involved member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and had a strong faith which sustained her through the years. Her lifelong generosity in both deed and in spirit, was graciously shared with all who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Friday, Nov.21st, her birthday, at 11 am. Visitation will occur at the church from 10 to 11 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 990 Old Springfield Pike, Xenia, OH, 45385, to assist homeless youth and homeless families.
