Margie was born February 9, 1922, in Goshen Township (Champaign County), Ohio, near Mechanicsburg. She grew up in Madison County (Ohio) and was a 1939 graduate of London High School. On June 19, 1942, she married B. P. Gibson, with whom she would spend the next 57 years. Following the War, Margie and her husband moved to Xenia, OH, where, in addition to her work as a homemaker, she became an active member of the Xenia Community,  volunteering at Greene Memorial Hospital, serving as a Cub Scout den mother, and teaching Sunday School at the First United Methodist Church. She also worked for a time at the Xenia Municipal Offices.
Margie was a world-class cook and baker. She also enjoyed walking and hiking, travelling with her husband, and avidly following a variety of sports, particularly the Cincinnati Reds.
In her later years, Margie relished her morning swimming and exercise routine with her friends at the Englewood YMCA, working in her numerous gardens, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
