Obituary

Marjorie J. Menapace, 94, of Beavercreek, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, at her residence. She was born November 23, 1923, in Superior, Wisconsin, the daughter of Blaine and Eva Smith Bahrman. She graduated from Wisconsin State University at Superior, and the Philadelphia School of Occupational Therapy (University of Pennsylvania). She was formerly employed at the Dayton VA Medical Center and Gorman School.  She was a member of Faith Community United Methodist Church where she served on the board of trustees, and was a former president and longtime member of the Xenia Women's Club.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, needlepoint, bridge, entertaining, and her family. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathleen A., (Kenneth) Denbleyker, Orangevale, CA, and Rebecca E. (Robert) Stoughton, Fairborn, a granddaughter, Eve (Ryan) Hibbler, Charlotte, NC, a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Christine Small, a great-grandson, Noah Hibbler, a sister, Lois (Claire) Nelson,  by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends, including a "special friend/daughter", Debby Stephens-Harbaugh. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman N. Menapace, on November 14, 2014, a daughter, Mary Christine Small, the late grandson, David Edward Small, a sister, Betty Ramsdell, and by two brothers-in-law, Reno Menapace and Jack Menapace. Services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, June 19, at Faith Community United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ronald Swiger officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm Monday, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Burial will be in Beaver Cemetery, Beavercreek.
