Obituary

Mark S. Jordan, 68, of Phoenix, Arizona and formerly of Xenia passed away July 21, 2017 at a Phoenix hospital following a long battle with cancer.  Family and friends were present.  Mark was the son of Fred and Dorothy Jordan Elliott. Mark was a member of the Xenia High School class of 1966 during which he was a part of a band called the Pendleton's formed by he and his friends. Mark entered the US Army, where he received awards, commendations, and a Purple Heart for his Vietnam service. Upon discharge from the Army, Mark became a sales representative for Central Carpet in Beavercreek, Ohio. Mark did not like the cold weather, so he moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he was employed by Tempe Decorating for 20 years and retired as a division manager. Mark enjoyed sports, most especially softball and bowling.  He pitched in the Little League program when it was first formed in Xenia.  He remained an avid fan of both the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals after his move to Arizona.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Matthew, his first wife Linda Gruber Jordan, and his stepfather Joseph Elliott. He is survived by his wife of 12 years Kelly Jordan and daughter Amanda Jordan of Phoenix, brother David(Mary) Jordan of Xenia, sister Sandy Jordan of Hillsboro, stepchildren Amanda Geiger and Drew Wheeler, grandchildren Aidan and Ava Manning, Evan Wheeler-Jordan, and Brennan and Liam Hodge all of Phoenix, Arizona.

Mark will be cremated in Arizona with internment at the National Cemetery of Phoenix.  Family and friends will gather for a celebration of life at a later date.  Condolences may be made to the family at www.NeeldFuneralHome.com.
