Obituary

Rev. Marlon Eugene Angel, 76, of Xenia, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at his residence. He was born November 22, 1940, in Gallia County, Ohio, the son of John Frank and Thelma Pickett Angell. He was a member of Xenia Nazarene Church, and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from General Motors and with his wife Dee, owned and operated several beauty salons. He was a graduate of Centerville Bible College and Mount Vernon Nazarene University and was ordained a Nazarene minister in 1992. He and his wife ministered at churches in Ohio, Alabama, West Virginia, and Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Deloris M. "Dee" (Applegate) Angel, whom he married, October 5, 1961, two daughters, Deborah (Tim) Brickey, and Shelia (Todd) Pittman, all of Xenia, a son, Deron (Gayle) Angel, South Carolina, 10 grandchildren, Kristen Jones, Jessica (David) Pitzer, Stacy Jones, Stephanie (Aaron) Williams, Cortney Jones, Jacob Brickey, Taylor Angel, and Abigayle Angel, 12 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Louisa Terry (George Grove), Arizona, Glenna Angel, Xenia, and Donna (John) Burress, Oklahoma, a brother, Dr. John (Jan) Angell, Alaska, by several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Tony Williams, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a great-grandson. Marlon will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 10am, Wednesday, November 29, at Xenia Nazarene Church, 1204 W. Second St., Xenia, with Rev. Mike Hancock officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia.
