Mary Elizabeth Rector, 90, of Xenia, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Greene Oaks Health Center. She was born March 14, 1924, in Xenia, Ohio, the daughter of P. W. and Helen Rockafield Murrell. She was a member of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Carol A. Rector and Linda (Clyde) Atley, two grandsons, Brandon (Tiffany) Atley and Bryan (Carol) Atley, three great-grandchildren, Bryce Atley, Blake Atley, and Tate Elizabeth Atley, all of Xenia, a grandson, Bill Atley, Jamestown, by numerous nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Henry Rector, Jr., on October 2, 2000, a sister, Martha Jane White, and by four brothers, Dwight Murrell, William Dale Murrell, Garland Murrell, and Roger L. Murrell. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, August 7, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. Jon Young officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am Thursday, until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
