Mary Louise Morris, 82, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away on October 19th, 2024, at The Enclave of Springboro.
Mary was born December 28, 1941, in Spring Valley, Ohio, to Warren H. and Laura L. (Stiles) Leaming. She graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1959, and the Byrd's School of Cosmetology in Dayton, Ohio, in 1960. Mary married Larry B. Morris, on June 21, 1971.
Mary retired as Greene County Recorder in 2009, after two terms. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Greene County Republican Central Committee, the Xenia Republican Women's Club, the National Federation of Republican Women, a charter member of the Greene County Republican Club, and a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Xenia since 1974.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, her brother W. Allen Leaming and sister-in-law, Patty F. Leaming, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa, son, Damon L. Morris, daughter-in-law, Staci L. (Spitler) Morris, grandchildren, Julianne and Isaac Caudill, Zachary Caserta, Wesley, Mason, Austin, and Hadleigh Morris, great-grandchildren, Jaden, Abbie, Alexa, and Brady Caudill, nephews, Jeffrey A. (Gabrielle), Joseph C. (Darlene), and Mark (Kim) Leaming, three great-nephews and a great-niece, their children, several cousins, and many friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 27th from 5pm to 7pm at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, Ohio, and the graveside services for family and close friends will be Monday, October 28th at 11am at the Mausoleum at Woodland Cemetery, 281 Dayton Ave., Xenia, Ohio, and a gathering will follow.
The Morris family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at The Enclave of Springboro and the staff of Day City Hospice for their kind and loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to be sent in her memory to Day City Hospice or to the charity of your choice.
Mary will be forever loved and missed.
