Mary Ellen Rector, 94, of Port William, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born September 13, 1929, in Xenia, Ohio, the daughter of Roscoe and Dena Reeves Beason. She was a 1947 graduate of Xenia Central High School, attended the Port William United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Port William Senior Citizens Center. She retired after 32 years as a librarian with Greeneview Schools. Mary Ellen and Carl were lifelong farmers in Greene County for 50 years. She is survived by a daughter, Sherrie (Linley) Liming, Bowersville, a son, Mark (Martha) Rector, Wilmington, five grandchildren, Heather Zurcher, Amanda (Ed) Everhart, Cory (Lea) Rector, Cortney Rector and Christina (Ben) Huff, six great-grandchildren, Sophie Zurcher, Kaylee Everhart, Lewis Everhart, Cason Rector, Corben Rector, and Landrie Rector, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband, Carl L. Rector. Mary Ellen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Private graveside services will be held by the family in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bowersville.
