Matthew J. Armstrong, 31, of Xenia, formerly of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018. He was born June 9, 1987, the son of Jimmy Armstrong and Kimberly Adrian Freels. He is survived by his mother, Kimberly (Don) Freels, father, Jimmy Armstrong, a son, Dominic Armstrong, and his son's mother, Lacey Williams, grandmother, June Potter, grandfather, Ralph Adrian, step-grandparents, Ruth (Roger) Warner, step-brothers, Donnie Freels and Joey Freels, aunt, Tammy Guess, uncle, Duane Freels, cousins, Amber (Joe) Bucci, Haley Dillon, Amanda (Christopher) Gersbacher, Duane (Tracey) Freels, Jr., and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Carlene Adrian, and grandfather, Bill Potter. Matt was an accomplished guitar player and drummer, loved skateboarding, and had a big heart and fun spirit that will be greatly missed by his family and by all who knew and loved him. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
