Melanie Ann (Harter) Kibelbek, 71, of Centerville, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. She was born October 22, 1954, in New Martinsville, West Virginia, the daughter of Charles ”Bud” Coleman and Helen Mae (Berry) Harter. She was a member of South Dayton Presbyterian Church, Centerville. She is survived by her husband, Michael John “Jack” Kibelbek, MD, whom she married July 31, 1976, her parents, Bud and Helen Harter, three sons, Nathan Kibelbek, Jonas (Hannah Zoller) Kibelbek, and Andrew Kibelbek, two grandchildren, Norah and Daphne Kibelbek, a brother, Scott Coleman (Lori Eberhardt) Harter, MD, a niece, Rachel Harter, and three nephews, Joshua (Jenny) Harter, Garrett Harter, MD, and Aaron (Daniella) Harter, and by many close friends. Melanie graduated in 1972 from Hempfield High School, and in 1976 from West Virginia University, Summa Cum Laude, with a BS in Nursing. She was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, Nursing Honorary Society. She practiced pediatric nursing afterward for a number of years. Melanie was a student of history, enjoying both American and Old Testament history. She enjoyed creating needlework, including needle point, crochet, and knitting. Melanie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Melanie’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 12:00 pm at South Dayton Presbyterian Church, 5280 Bigger Rd., Centerville, OH.
