Michael J. Carman, 65, of Xenia, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born August 17, 1949, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of W. Robert and Wanda Murrell Carman. He was a member of the Victory Life Christian Center and the Xenia Kiwanis Club. He was employed as a rural mail carrier with the Xenia Post Office, and formerly worked at MARMAC, and retired from Morris Bean & Co. He was a loyal fan of the former Dayton Bombers and a season ticket holder of the Dayton Dragons. He enjoyed many species of birds, and was an avid gardener. Mike's hobbies included planes, trains, automobiles, and motorcycles, and he also enjoyed cooking. Mike loved the Lord and his desire would be for everyone to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. He loved his dog, Buddy, who became his faithful bedside companion. He is survived by his wife, JoAnne (DeWine) Carman, whom he married December 21, 1979, a daughter, Sarah (Tommy) Kitchen, Huber Heights, a son, Joel (Elaine) Carman, Wilmington, a granddaughter, Lucy Kitchen, a sister, Su Carman (Marc Brownell), Xenia, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, December 20, at Victory Life Christian Center, 1862 US Route 68 S., Xenia, with Pastor Ron Stauch officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am Saturday, until service time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 325 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH, 45420, in his memory.
