Obituary

Michael Anthony Tobias, 53, of Xenia, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born May 3, 1963, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Orville Dewey and Rita Corrigan Tobias. He was a member of St. Brigid Church, and was baptized, had his first communion, and confirmed at St. Paul Catholic Church, Yellow Springs. He was an AG Tech 1 with OARDC-Ohio State University and was a big supporter of the Cedarville Opera House and of the Cedar Cliff Schools PTO.  Mike was an animal lover, advocate of modern farming practices, and greatly enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his wife, Karen (Sweeney)Tobias, whom he married, June 18, 1988,  two children, Gabrielle Delores Tobias and Caleb Michael Tobias, his mother, Rita Tobias, all of Xenia, father-in-law, John (Dolores) Sweeney, Springfield, a sister, Rebecca (Ted) Bahns, and John P. Tobias, all of Xenia, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Terrance Sweeney, Springfield, James (Cynthia) Davis, Marion, Colleen Sweeney, Venice, FL, and Regina White, Beavercreek, by several nieces and nephews; Nicholas Bahns, Xenia, Jackie Bohn, Springfield, Robin (Michael) Bailey, Huber Heights, Kyle Bohn, Beavercreek, James (Bryna) Davis, Jr., Colorado, and Robert (Brittany) Davis, Findlay, great-nieces and great-nephews; Claire, Olivia, Charlotte, Donald, Rylan, and Brynan, and by many close friends, including his pallbearers; Ted Bahns, Nick Bahns, Tony Satariano, Jeff Ferguson, Jim Davis, Clyde Channels, Jeff Fontaine, and Eddie Ellis. He was preceded in death by his father, and by a brother-in-law, Roger White.  Visitation will be held from 5-8pm, April 11, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Wednesday, April 12, at St. Brigid Church, 312 Fairground Rd., Xenia, with Rev.
