Obituary

Muriel "Midge" Dean Richardson Whittington, 86, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, of Xenia, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, December 4, 2017, at Harmony Center of Xenia. She was born March 31, 1931, in Loyall, Kentucky, the daughter of William L. "Bill" and Julia Clifton Allen. She was a member of Daysprings Ministries of Beavercreek and retired as a cook with the Xenia City Schools and kitchen manager with the Greene County Jail. She is survived by a daughter, Vicki Martin, a daughter-in-law, Brenda Richardson, five stepsons, David (Patty) Whittington, Norman (Connie) Whittington, Marlin Whittington, Tim Whittington, and Richard Whittington, grandchildren, Tracey Wright, Nathan (Aimee) Richardson, Brian (Karen) Richardson, Heather (Dan) Mangan, Angie (Andy) Hinkle, Jessica (Ian) Robinson, Skyler Richardson, Jenny (Jay) Sizemore, Heather Whittington, Troy Whittington, and Lindsey Whittington, 20 great-grandchildren, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Jess W. Richardson, on July 22, 1983, her second husband, Thomas F. Whittington, on May 24, 2016, two sons, Michael Richardson and James Richardson, a son-in-law, Richard Martin, a sister, Emma Broyles, and by two brothers, Ray Allen and Ralph Allen. Midge will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held 10am, Monday, December 11, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor John Lockwood officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Daysprings Ministries, 3182 Rodenbeck Dr., Beavercreek, OH, 45432, the Alzheimer's Association, 31 W.
