Nancy Ellen (Morgan) Compton, 85, formerly of Xenia, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016, at Carriage Court of Washington, C.H. She was born August 13, 1930, in Sugarcreek Township, Ohio, the daughter of James W. and Opal E. Harnish Morgan. She was a member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church and retired in 1985 from HQAFLO WPAFB, where she was a budget analyst. She also served as a secretary with various school systems. She attended Miami University, Sinclair Community College, and Wright State University. She is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Melvin, Spring Valley, and Jane (Dan) Huff, Washington C.H., two sisters-in-law, Martha Morgan and Mary Morgan, by several nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Jon Melvin, Tim Melvin, and Sean Huff, by several great-nieces and great-nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald M. Compton, on September 6, 1996, by three brothers, James P. Morgan, Richard A. Morgan, and Gene A. Morgan, a sister-in-law, Phyllis Morgan, a brother-in-law, Robert Melvin, by two special nieces, Melodie Smith and Pamela Morgan Koogler. Services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, June 28, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held from 1pm Tuesday, until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Spring Valley United Methodist Church, 1 W.
