Nancy Jo Holt's Obituary
Nancy Jo Holt, 73, of Xenia, formerly of Enon, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 6, 2017, at Greene Oaks Health Center. Now with Jesus, her mind and body have been restored after the devastating effects of Alzheimer's. "Jo" was born June 12, 1943 in Van Wert, OH. She is survived by her daughter, Emily (Steve) Ruffner, Xenia; her son, Matthew Holt, Grapevine, TX; her grandchildren Melina, Kalen, Sarah, and Matthew Holt; Darcy, Timothy, Evelyn and Rachel Ruffner; sisters Marcia (Bob) Benjamin and Rita (Andy) Cummings; brother Alan (Shayna) DeLong; many nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Byron and Frances DeLong and her grandson Joseph Ruffner. Jo was a graduate from the Ball State University School of Nursing and spent her latter career as a registered nurse in the Greenon School District and Clark County Combined Health District, retiring as the county Epidemiologist. She was a member of the Enon United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for more than 25 years and went on mission trips to the Four Corners and South Africa. Jo was happiest when reading, and enjoyed cross-stitching, tending her garden, and creating scrapbooks for her grandchildren. Her beautiful smile and infectious enthusiasm will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held Friday, March 10th from 6-8pm at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 11th at 10am at the Enon United Methodist Church. Private interment will be held by the family in Taylor Cemetery, Van Wert County. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Emmanuel Baptist Church for the Joseph Ruffner Scholarship Fund for Youth Missions, 1120 S. Detroit St., Xenia.
