Nancy Neeld Nickell, 87, of Xenia, formerly of Laurel, MD, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022. She was born December 8, 1934, in Xenia, Ohio, the daughter of William A. and Virginia Kinsey Neeld. She attended Christ Episcopal Church, Xenia, and also St. Philips Episcopal Church, Laurel, and was an active member of the Greene County Historical Society. She was a 1952 graduate of Xenia Central High School. She is survived by one son, Eric Charles Nickell, Laurel, MD, two daughters, Katherine Connors (Ron Frahm), Columbia, MD, and Melissa (Pete) Weisberg, Annapolis, MD, seven grandchildren, Olivia Haslup, David P. Haslup, Jr., Julia Haslup, Carson Nickell (Amanda), Roxanne Nash (Pete), James Connors and Zoe Weisberg, great-grandson, Brooks Andelman, sisters, Linda (Robert) Nohren, Clearwater, FL, and Twila (Pete) Neeld-Bracken, Boston, VA, brothers, Thomas R. Neeld, Xenia, and Bruce Neeld, Longmont, CO, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends including her wonderful caregiver, Claudette Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James J. Nickell, on October 6, 2006, by a daughter, Elizabeth "Betsy" Haslup and son-in-law David Haslup, a daughter-in-law, Lisa Nickell, a sister, Marilyn "Peg" Dircksen, and by three brothers, Dr. William K. Neeld, Richard W. Neeld, and Robert H. Neeld. Nancy was an avid gardener, reader, singer and piano player. She loved genealogy, the woods, American history, and classical music. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 63 E.
