Obituary

Norton B. Doran, 73, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Soin Medical Center, Beavercreek. He was born April 19, 1948, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of Robert J. and Frances (Norton) Doran. He was a 1966 graduate of Xenia High School and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Vietnam War. He was an amateur radio enthusiast, and enjoyed collecting railroad pocket watches and antique clocks. After serving in Vietnam, Norton worked "Out West" in the oil fields and was known as a "Landman". Later in life, he self-published 3 books. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Sexton) Doran, a step-son, Bobby (Lisa) Rife, a brother, Robert J. (Paula) Doran, Jr, brothers-in-law, Don (Susie) Sexton, Ron (Sue) Sexton, Tim (Peggy) Sexton, a sister-in-law, Alicja Sexton, by many nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. Norton will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held 10am, Monday, November 8, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor Ken Day officiating. The family will meet friends following the service at the funeral home.
