Ottis Wayne Shepherd, Sr., 83, of Xenia, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, January 26, 2018, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. He was born November 25, 1934, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of Henderson and Belva Woods Shepherd. He was a member of Fellowship Tabernacle, Xenia Masonic Lodge, # 49, F & A. M, and of the Oldtimer's Club. He retired as a carpenter with Danis Industries. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley (King) Shepherd, whom he married, August 3, 1957,  a daughter, Diane Shepherd, Waverly, a son, Ottis Wayne (Paula) Shepherd, Jr., New Lebanon, four grandchildren, Gary (Nancy) Hensley, Farmersville, Reggie (Nikki) Wax, Chillicothe, Katti (Shawn) Swearingen, Hillsboro, and Shelby (Jon) Artz, Eaton, seventeen great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, a sister, Delphine Brown, Tennessee, a brother, Roger Shepherd, Dayton, by several nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henderson Shepherd and Belva Woods Shepherd Conley, two sisters, Elois Smith, and Nadine Vogelsong, and by a brother, John Shepherd. Ottis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 10am, Thursday, February 1, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home, with Masonic services at 7:30pm. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
