Patty Lynn Spracklen (née Shuttleworth), age 89, passed away surrounded by her family on September 14, 2026. She was born on May 11, 1937, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Phillip and Florence Shuttleworth.

Patty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose life centered around her family. She shared a loving marriage with her husband, Richard Spracklen, who preceded her in death in October 2022. They were married on September 15, 1956, Patty went home to celebrate their anniversary together.

Patty is survived by her four children: Nancy L. (Edward) Tehan of Springfield, Mark (Nan) Spracklen of Cedarville, Jeff (Patricia) Spracklen of Xenia and Beth Ann (Ron) Ciul of Mason. She was a cherished grandmother to Michael (Bonnie) Tehan, Patrick (Melissa) Tehan, Molly (Jon) Karch, Matthew (Jen) Spracklen, Curtis (Megan) Spracklen, Kyle (Brandi) Spracklen and Madison Brown. She was also blessed with 22beloved great-grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Patty was actively involved in her church and community. She served alongside Richard as a 4-H advisor and enjoyed spending time with her bridge club and women’s club. Her greatest joy was bringing her family together and celebrating life’s special moments—especially Christmas.

In addition to her parents and her adoring husband, Richard, Patty was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Ruggles, and her infant grandson, Bradley Spracklen.

Patty will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her involvement in her community and the love she shared so generously. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Patty’s family extends a special and heartfelt thank-you to the Springfield Masonic Home (Pathways) for the exceptional care, kindness and compassion they provided. They cared for Patty with such love and treated her like a member of their own family, for which her family will always be deeply grateful.

Services will be held at 11am, Monday, September 21, at Xenia United Presbyterian Church with visitation from 10am until service time. Burial will be in North Cemetery, Cedarville.
