Obituary

Pearl M. (Ellis) Garvic, 96, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018, at her residence. She was born March 20, 1921, in Jamestown Ohio, the daughter of Wilbur Roscoe and Cecilia Mary Nichols Ellis. She was of member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Xenia, was a 4-H Advisory Board member, and was a charter member of the Port William Lumberton Senior Citizens Center.  She was known by many as the pie cook at the 68 Family Restaurant. She is survived by a son, Richard L. Garvic, Xenia, a granddaughter, Jody (Michael) Hayes, Fairborn, five great-grandchildren, nieces, Marjorie (Michael) Cady, Troy, and Marilyn (Patrick) Maley, Florence, KY, nephews, Richard Ellis, Sabina, Craig Chaplin, Georgetown, and Robert Herbert, West Carrollton, by several great-nieces and great-nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Garvic, six sisters, Martha Herbert, Ruth Chaplin, Georgianna Ellis, Mary Edwards, Emma Butts, and Cleo Ellis, and by two brothers, Roscoe Ellis and Ralph Ellis. Pearl will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Graveside services will be held at 11am, Friday, February 2, in New Maple Grove Cemetery, Port William. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH, 45420, in her memory. Condolences may be made to the family at www.NeeldFuneralHome.com .
