PHILIP "PHIL" BROOKS KEADLE, January 24, 1941 - May 10, 2025, also known as Grandpa Phil & Pappy, from Xenia, Ohio, born on January 24, 1941 in Tiltonsville, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He peacefully left his earthly vessel and joined God the Father, Jesus His Son, and The Holy Spirit on May 10, 2025 at The Patterson. Phil was married to and preceded by his wife Judith "Judy" Ann Keadle for 56 years on Saturday, November 7, 2020, and preceded by his grandsons Avery Donovan Keadle and Isaiah Philip James Keadle.
He is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Holly Keadle, Rodney and Melisa Keadle and Gregory and Tanis Keadle. He is survived by twelve grandchildren and four bonus grandchildren, Seth and Chelsea, Amber, Mitchell and Mallory, Avery (preceded by) and Caroline, Morgan, Zane, Autumn and AJ, Brenna, Isaiah (preceded by), Treyten, and two Great Grandchildren Colson and Emery.
Phil was born to and preceded by his parents John Edward Keadle and Myrtle Leigh (Brooks) Keadle, preceded by his brothers Roger C. Keadle, John M. Keadle, William "Bill" Robert Keadle, George A. Keadle, preceded by his sisters Mary Evelyn (Keadle) Kot, Joanne Elizabeth (Keadle) Saus, Jean Marie (Keadle) Swart, and survived by his sister Esther O (Keadle) Hartshorn.
He was a graduate of Martins Ferry High School and attended Sinclair Community College. Phil was a proud United States Navy Veteran graduating Pass In Review on October 11, 1962 and served during the Vietnam War. He was a Sailor on the USS Magoffin Ship 199, Division 467 and also served as a Store Keeper. He was a part of the Honor Flight and Ceremonies out of Dayton, Ohio. Phil worked for and retired from General Motors where he worked at the GM Moraine Assembly Plant, and was a member of the United Auto Workers in Moraine, Ohio.
Phil and Judy attended West Enon Church of God in Enon, Ohio together. Phil most recently attended Ledbetter Road Church of God. He loved being with his family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and building train sets with family and friends. Above all his favorite hobby was singing. Phil loved to sing, and had a song for every occasion. Phil led music for many churches and would sing with his wife Judy at the piano, at home and in church. He was the Sunday School Superintendent, on the Board of Christian Education, Worship Leader, Puppet Ministry, and made more VBS Crafts for his wife Judy than anyone can count, at East Park Church of God, Dayton, Ohio. Beginning in the 1970's Phil, alongside his wife Judy, was a dedicated Camp Manager and Groundskeeper, for many years at the Springfield Church of God Campgrounds, Springfield, Ohio. After retirement he spent time as a custodian at Maiden Lane Church of God, Springfield, Ohio.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 from 6 pm - 8 pm at West Enon Church of God, 4800 Snider Rd, Fairborn, Ohio. A Celebration of Phil's life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at West Enon Church of God beginning at 9:30 am. Immediately following will be a procession to Valley View Memorial Gardens, 170 N Valley Rd, Xenia, Ohio, for the Committal Service and Military Funeral Honors.
