Rachel I. Shaw, 89, of Xenia, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Greene Oaks Health Center. She was born April 5, 1927, in Sugarcreek Township, Ohio, the daughter of Harry and Jennie Daniels Brown. She was a member of the Bellbrook Church of Christ, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and communion preparer. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis (William) Phillips, Wilmington, Gayol (Stanley) Michael, Xenia, Jennie (Chuck) Dawes, Springboro, a son, Jerry Alan Shaw, Beavercreek, 11 grandchildren, by numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John J. Shaw, on March 9, 2013, by a daughter, Deanna Shaw, a son, Kenneth Eugene Shaw, four grandchildren, by four sisters and three brothers. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
