Randy Lee
Gifford
February 23, 1960 – July 28, 2021
Randy Lee Gifford, 61, of Xenia, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 (he probably found out it was going to be hot again next week). He was born February 23, 1960, in Xenia, Ohio, and is preceded in death by his father, William H Gifford, his mother, Thelma J Gifford, and his brother Mark Gifford. He is survived by his wife Carrie (Nesbitt) Gifford, his sister Marcia Ann Holmes (John) his three children, Alexandria Searcy (Justin), Chelsey Gifford (Sarah and Jessica Meah) and Drew Gifford (2017 Chevrolet Camaro). There are others, of course, but the reality is that Randy felt like family to everyone.
He was a devout member of the Ledbetter Road Church of God, a college graduate, and a successful insurance agent with Reichley Insurance for most of his life. He loved music, helping others (no really, he did), God, his family, writing instruments (particularly bold ink pens – yes, it's a little weird), tape measurers (okay, a lot weird), working on projects, dozing in his chair while pretending to watch golf, reading, sharing the same YouTube videos over and over, telling stories (yes, sometimes the same ones), and being ornery. Randy was truly the embodiment of what a good man is and should be. He was also determined to win the gold medal for being the most hardworking, alas, they told him he was overqualified. His quick wit and the ability to make others smile and laugh were only a few of his gifts, but probably the ones that touched the most hearts. It will be quite impossible to not miss him daily, which he probably planned for on purpose.
Services will be held at 10 am, Thursday, August 5, at Ledbetter Road Church of God in Xenia with Pastor Mike Parks officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Xenia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ledbetter Road Church of God, 325 Ledbetter Rd. Xenia, OH 45385, in his memory (and it's a good one, probably even for most). Condolences may be made to the family at www.neeldfuneralhome.com
