Obituary

Raymond L. Curtis, 81, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017, at his residence. He was born December 15, 1935, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of the late Herbert Curtis and the late Grace Middleton Curtis Bartlett. He also was preceded in death by Step-Father Cloyd Bartlett and son Bobbie Curtis. He was a lifetime member of Eleazer United Methodist Church.  Mr. Curtis is survived by 6 children: Steve Curtis and wife Shirley of Pataskala, Ohio, Ron Curtis (Borders) and wife Kathy of Circleville, Ohio, Connie Curtis of Brookville, Indiana, Carole Davidson and husband Jon of Felicity, Ohio, Raymond Curtis, Jr., and wife Kristi of Olympia Washington, Mike Curtis and wife Barbie of Kettering, Ohio. He is survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews. He also is survived by his brother Russell Curtis and wife Nancy of Xenia, and longtime companion Betty Curtis Gentry.  Raymond lived his life as a craftsman carpenter and construction contractor. He was also an avid NASCAR Jeff Gordon and The Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 11am, Thursday, March 16, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor Dan Jordan and Rev. Jeremy Olson officiating. Visitation will be held from 9am Thursday, until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Eleazer United Methodist Church, c/o Russell Curtis, 970 Valleydale Dr. Xenia, OH, 45385, VITAS Hospice, 3055 Kettering Blvd, Moraine, OH, 45439, in his memory.
