Richard Alan "Dick" Aikins, 62, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017, surrounded by family. Dick was born July 12, 1954, to Harold and Virginia Aikins. He was a member of Xenia High School's Class of 1972 and a 1976 graduate of The Ohio State University. Dick was known by many for his more than 30 years of service at Lang's Chevrolet, now Jeff Schmitt Auto Group. He was an avid sports fan loyal to his home teams, the Buckeyes, Bengals, and Reds. Dick enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, canoeing and exploring with his family. Dick spent recent years serving as an officer and legionnaire at the Xenia Loyal Order of the Moose and was a Moose Rider, participating in numerous charities. Dick had a wealth of knowledge and will be remembered for his kind and joyful spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Harlow Aikins and Virginia Beck Aikins. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Myrna (Williams) Aikins of Xenia, two daughters, Asia (Scott) Kellner of Satsuma, FL, and Sarah Aikins of Xenia; sisters Jean (Lee) Brenneison of Berea and Janice (Michael) Pitzer of Xenia; grandchildren, Brooklyn Kellner, Kelsey Kellner, Adrianne Greene, Sophia Greene and Jaxson Aikins. Memorial services will be held at 11am, Saturday, April 29, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Private burial will be held by the family in Valley View Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to a celebration of Dick's life at the Moose Lodge, Xenia, immediately following the memorial service. Contributions may be made to Mooseheart, 155 S.
