Rita Joan "Jo" Luttrell, 87, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Elmcroft of Xenia. She was born July 19, 1931, in Xenia, Ohio, the daughter of the late Roy T. "Dempsey" and Gladys O. Jenks Bales. She was a graduate of Spring Valley High School and Wilmington College, and retired as a teacher from Xenia Community Schools in 1982. She was a member of Faith Community United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Donald G. Luttrell, whom she married, November 21, 1953,  a daughter, Rebecca (Michael) Tittle, a son, Samuel T. (Kimberly) Luttrell, all of Xenia, three grandsons, Jeffrey (Kelli) Tittle, Bellbrook, Alex (Emily) Tittle, Centerville, and Drew (Casey) Luttrell, Xenia, and by four great-grandchildren, Jack, Luke, Finley, and Abby. She was affectionately known as "MiMi" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by a brother, Richard T. (Carolyn) Bales, Springboro, a sister-in-law, Margaret Mercer, Xenia, by numerous nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. Jo will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 10am, Thursday, November 8, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. John Guliano officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
