Robert L. "Bob" Briley, 78, of Xenia, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. He was born September 11, 1945, in Belleville, Illinois, the son of Robert W. and Louise Stethem Briley.

Bob graduated from Xenia High School, class of 1963 and was a 1968 graduate of Central State University.  He was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church, Xenia, OH.

Bob worked in the Nursing Home business for 46 years.  He served as President of the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Health Care Administrators, Vice Governor/American College of Health Care Administrators for the states of Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan and Indiana.  He also served as Chairman, Board of Directors of Miami Valley Alzheimer's Association.

After retirement, Bob enjoyed harness racing, spending time at the Xenia Fairgrounds, training horses, volunteering at Greene Memorial Hospital and was a huge Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan.

He is survived by his wife, Joy C. (White) Briley, whom he married, October 27, 1990.  Also survived by a daughter, Kelly Briley, Dallas, TX, a stepson, Stephen (Susan) Smalley, Grand Rapids, MI.  Four grandchildren, Jackson Briley, Logan Briley, Freddie Smalley, and Jack Smalley,  A sister, Denise (Dan) Dehan, Wilmington, OH, a nephew, Brian (Amy) Dehan, Cincinnati, OH, great nieces, Audrey and Caitlyn Dehan, great nephews, Tyler and Logan Dehan, and by many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Rita Briley, and by a nephew, Sean Dehan. Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
