Robert G Martin, Sr., of Xenia, Ohio passed in peace Friday, August 26, 2011 at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest T Martin, Sr. and Freda Fern Davis Martin, his brother Ernest T Martin Jr. (Bud), and his wife Mildred Martin. Bob leaves behind three children, Robert Martin Jr. (Bob) of Surprise, AZ, Judy Martin Davis of Peoria, AZ and Glenn Martin of El Mirage, AZ, six grandchildren, Daisha Oshiro of Buckeye, AZ, Mark Davis of Phoenix, AZ, Jeremy Davis of Shoreline, WA, John Davis of Ladera Ranch, CA, Stephen Davis of Nixa, MO and Garrett Martin of El Mirage, AZ, as well as nine great-grandchildren. Step-father to Cris Hartsock of Donnelsville, OH and Neil Hartsock of Xenia, OH, five grandchildren, Cristopher, Michael, Amber, Nichole and Amanda and seven great-grandchildren.Born in Hammond, Indiana, Bob moved to Xenia when he was three years old, leaving in 1951 to join the United State Marine Corps. He spent most of his life working in the grocery industry, a natural fit because he was a people person with a quick wit and marvelous sense of humor who enjoyed making people smile, laugh, and occasionally scratch their head.Memorial Services will be held this Saturday, September 17th, 2pm at Neeld Funeral Home in Xenia, Ohio. Bob will be buried at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, WoundedWarriorProject.org in honor of our father, a veteran and a life-long patriot.
