Robert F. Seiter, 91, of Xenia, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014, at St. Leonard, Centerville. He was born September 2, 1923, in Connersville, IN, the son of Frank A. and Winifred Casey Seiter. He was a member of St. Brigid Church, Knights of Columbus Council No. 1801, a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Marion, graduate of the University of Dayton, veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II, where he received a Bronze Star, five battle stars, and was an Army and National Guard officer. He was a charter member of Symposiarchs and the University of Dayton Golden Flyers Alumni Association, former chairman of the Democratic Executive Committee of Greene County, and an active member of the Ohio Association of Independent Insurance Agents. He was the owner of Insurance Associates, for 38 years, with offices in the Xenia Gazette building. He is survived by his children, Mary (Rob) Martin, Xenia, Joseph V. Seiter, Cedar Rapids, IA, Jeffrey C. Seiter (Lonnie Anderson), Columbus, Robert F. (Mary) Seiter, New Lebanon, Matthew G. (Jane) Seiter, East Providence, R.I., and Timothy F. (Barbara) Seiter, Dayton, 13 grandchildren, Joseph Seiter, Matthew Seiter, Grace Seiter, Su Ding Seiter, Nina Seiter, Lindsey Seiter, Thomas (Jocelyn) Seiter, Megan Seiter, Nikki Bayless, Adam Martin, Lucy Martin, Audrey Martin, and Natalie Martin, 3 great-grandchildren, Erin Bayless, Emily Flint, and Dalton Martin, by numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jeannette H. "Jan" (Hibbert) Seiter, on November 18, 1985, and by a brother, P. David Seiter. Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Tuesday, November 4, at St. Brigid Church, 312 Fairground Rd., Xenia, with Rev. John Krumm officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Monday, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
