It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roberta Ann Yarnell Diamond Rathweg, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, on May 25, 2026, at the age of 95. She left this world peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will be remembered always.

Born on April 26, 1931, in Dayton, OH, Roberta dedicated her life to nurturing her family and those she held dear. Her selflessness and unwavering devotion to her loved ones were the cornerstones of her character. She was a source of unconditional love, wisdom, and warmth to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

In 1956, Roberta, along with Mary Mangan, established Milady’s Beauty Salon, a business that long served the Xenia community. Through her work, she formed lasting friendships and became a familiar and trusted presence to generations of clients.

Roberta—known lovingly as Mom—had a gift for creating a welcoming home where laughter echoed and memories were made. She was known for her quick wit that brightened any room, her wonderful meals (even though she never particularly enjoyed cooking), and her fierce devotion to family and friends. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she poured her boundless energy into sharing stories, hugs, and life lessons that will guide them for years to come. Her love of travel and appreciation of culture took her to five continents.

She is survived by her sons, John [Ann] and Tom [Gary]; her grandchildren, John, Joshua, and Elizabeth; and countless others whose lives she touched deeply.

Roberta was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth; her father, Willard; her sister, Olga; her brother, Lloyd; her husbands, John Diamond, Sr., and Russell Rathweg; and her son-in-love, Christopher Federer.

A celebration of Roberta’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM at Neeld Funeral Home in Xenia, OH. Family and friends are invited to honor her memory and share stories of how she touched their lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to House of Bread in Dayton, OH.

Though she is no longer with us, Roberta’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved. Her love and light remain eternal, a testament to the beautiful life she lived.
