Rodney Alan Rose age 53, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 8, at his residence, after battling a lengthy illness for over 22 years. Rodney was from Xenia, Ohio but had also lived in Leesburg, Ohio and North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was a graduate of Xenia High School Class of 1989.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Rita Elam Rose in 2004 and Brother Ronald David Rose.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife of 27 years and best friend, Karen M. Rose, his Dad Robert L. (Bob) Rose Sr. and his special friend Jill Bottorff of Xenia, 2 Brothers, Robert L Rose Jr. of Xenia, Randall Rose of Delaware; Sister, Rhonda (Jeff) Hoffman of Dublin; a very special Uncle Don Elam of Xenia and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, along with numerous other close family members, and life long friends.
He met the love of his life and her 8 week old daughter on a blind date.
They were united in marriage on December 27, 1996 and he legally adopted and raised from an infant Gwendolyn (Caleb and Grandson John David) Fooce of Thurman. Rodney is also survived by a biological son Mitchell David (Kelsey) Rose from West Carrollton, Ohio and a Granddaughter (Baby girl) Rose.
In addition to his wife being a wonderful and dedicated care partner who was by his side every step of the way. Rodney wanted to also publicly say Thank You to;
Dr. Kevin Sharrett and his caring staff and Dr. Mark Oxman along with his awesome team. Both are not only great at their profession, but even better men. The time, effort, research, dedication, and genuine love shown by both of them and their staff comforted the family during this difficult time.
Rodney could be described as a loving, caring, and giving man with a quick sense of humor. He was loyal and made friends easily. His family was most important to him.
He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Rodney's wishes were to have a Private service at graveside with family. He will be laid to rest in the family burial site at Woodland Cemetery. There will be no visitation for the public. The family will be gathering at Nick's Restaurant, Saturday, July 13 at 2:00 pm. Feel free to stop by and talk to the family in remembrance of Rodney's life.
