Obituary

Rodney William Skinner, 71, of Xenia, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at his residence. He was born on January 27, 1954, in South Bend, Indiana, and was the son of William and Ruth L. Pearish Skinner. He was a member of the Jamestown Masonic Lodge # 352 and Easter Star Home City Chapter # 258 and made the world a better place throughout his career as a social worker, and after his retirement he thoroughly enjoyed the people and animals at the Greene County Animal Shelter where he volunteered. He is survived by his wife Luanne Skinner, whom he married on January 2, 1982; son David Skinner (fiancée, Autumn Frandsen); grandchildren; Anabelle, Vienna, and Camden; sister, Sue (Cliff) Brockman; a brother Kurt (Linda) Skinner; sister-in-law, Denise (Mike) Riggs; special nieces and nephews; Keely Foster, Aliza Skinner (fiancé Ryan Grant), Cassie Brockman and Cliff Brockman; a great niece and nephews; Isela, Max, and Samuel Layne; his loving cat Jasmine; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. Rod will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Rod's life will be held at a later date. Private graveside services will be held by the family in Valley View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Greene County Animal Control, 641 Dayton Xenia Rd., Xenia, OH, 45385, in his memory.
