Rosemary W. Smith, 82, of Xenia, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Kettering Medical Center. She was born September 20, 1933, in Walbridge, Ohio, the daughter of David and Rose (Ziegelhofer) Waggoner. She was a member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church, and was the former director of the Spring Valley Senior Center. She retired as an elementary school teacher with the Xenia City Schools. She is survived by her husband, Everett R. Smith, whom she married March 26, 1955, a daughter, Karren Smith, Xenia, sons, David (Fay) Smith, Starkville, MS, and Harold (Carla) Smith, Xenia, five grandchildren, Jessica (Matt) Suter, Kettering, Emily Smith, St. Paul, MN, Sarah (Erick) Reitz, Seattle, WA, Kassandra (Jordan) Harris, Wilmington, and Maria Smith, Xenia, two brothers, Benjamin (Jean) Waggoner, Walbridge, OH, and David (Vicki) Waggoner, Temperance, MI, sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Waggoner, Bowling Green, Laura Waggoner, Perrysburg, and Sally Waggoner, Waterville, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Virginia Waggoner, three brothers, Robert G. Waggoner, Charles Waggoner, and Wendell Waggoner, and by a sister-in-law, Rachel Waggoner. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Valley View Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation.
