Roy E. Hess, 73, of Xenia, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at his residence. He was born December 12, 1947, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of Roy and Margaret Evers Hess. He was a 1966 graduate of Xenia High School and was an avid drag racer. He was formerly employed at Carboline and CIL of Xenia, and NCR. He is survived by a daughter, Beth Anne Hess, a son Roy E. Hess, Jr., of Xenia, four grandchildren, Nora Banfill, Brooke Banfill, Aaron Hess, and Gillian Hess, a sister, Diana (Tom) Beam, Wilmington, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife, Elizabeth M. "Betsy" Hess, on July 21, 1982. Roy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be held at 11am, Saturday, May 15, in St. Brigid Cemetery, Xenia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Miami Valley, 46 N.
