Ruth Arrington, age 91, formerly of Haysi, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Friends Care Center, Yellow Springs. Born January 29, 1925 in Haysi, VA, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Mae Powers Edwards. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Arrington in 1985, a son, Roger E. Arrington, three sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah (Tom) Plappert of Xenia, OH and Vickie (David) Elliott of Waynesville, OH, a son, Archie (Jackey) Arrington of Urbana, OH, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter, and a step-grandson. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Roger Fuller, Garnell Gilbert and Jim Duty officiating. Burial will follow in Powers-Edwards Cemetery, Bee, VA. The family will receive friends after 10:00 a.m. prior to funeral service.
