Obituary

Samuel Benjamin Morgan, 84, of Xenia, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born February 15, 1932, in Williamsport, Ohio, the son of Marion F. and Nola Mae Mossbarger Morgan. He attended Xenia Nazarene Church, and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War. He retired as chief deputy with the Greene County Sheriff's Department in 1979. He is survived by his wife, Arlene F. (Augg) Morgan, whom he married, August 6, 1950, three daughters, Cheryl (Roger) Roberts, and Diane Moorman, all of Xenia, and Marcia (Greg) Stidham, Westerville, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Abe (JoAnn) Morgan, California, and Robert (Nellie) Morgan, Mt. Vernon, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a sister and 8 brothers. Sam will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 10am, Friday, October 28, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. Michael Hancock officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Xenia Nazarene Church, 1202 W.
