Sandra (Welch) "Sandi" Harner, 82, of Xenia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. She was born November 27, 1942, in Harlan, Kentucky, the daughter of Herman and Pauline Huff Welch. She was a member of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church and retired from Cedarville University as the senior professor of professional writing. She is survived by a son, Scott Harner; a daughter, Amy (Jason) Thompson; three grandchildren: Zachary (Mary) Thompson, Jacob Thompson, and Sarah Harner, a sister, Peggy Engeler, a brother, William (Martha) Welch, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald A. Harner, on February 10, 2025, and by a brother, Mark Welch. Sandi will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held at 9:00am, Thursday, November 6, at Dayton Avenue Baptist Church, 1121 Dayton Ave., Xenia, OH, 45385, followed by an 11:00am service.
