The family of Shawn Kelpy Foley, 55, of Oregonia, is devastated to announce his passing on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, after a 16-month battle with cancer. He was born November 29, 1967, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of William and Dorothy (Pitzer) Foley. Shawn was an extraordinary man who lived a life filled with passion, love, and curiosity. He was a devoted father, a loving partner, a dedicated coach and mentor, and an avid outdoorsman.

Shawn leaves his legacy with his fiancée, Jennifer Fuerst, the mother of his children, Jennifer Foley, his children, Meghan Foley, Colleen (Jack) Schaaf, Emily Foley (Dylan Krieger), and Liam (Madison) Foley, his grandchildren, Dorothy Lynn, Maria Dean, and Henry Kelpy, his three sisters, Helen (Jeff) Owen, Diane Imbrogno, and Carol Foley, several nieces, nephews, and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Brian Foley, and his brother-in-law, Eugene "Dean" Imbrogno. Shawn generously spread joy and light to everyone who knew him. He embodied many things to many people, sharing his passions through sports, art, nature, and cooking. More than anything, Shawn was a patron of life, content in the quiet moments and delighted by the lively ones. His love, humor, and warmth will be greatly missed.  Shawn's dedication to youth sports will be carried on through the Shawn Foley Memorial Fund. Friends can visit with Shawn's family from 4 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday, July 26, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Funeral service will be held at 10 am, Thursday, July 27 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia immediately following.
