Obituary

Stanley E. Funk, 87, of Xenia, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Greene Memorial Hospital. He was born December 3, 1929, in Spring Valley, Ohio, the son of Jesse E. and Viola Duke Funk. He was a graduate of Spring Valley High School, and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He retired from Chrysler Airtemp, Dayton. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Blanche (Smith) Funk, a daughter, Debra Koger, both of Xenia, a grandson, Bryan Stafford, Hillsboro, a sister-in-law, Brenda (Glenn) McGhee, Germantown, by several dearly beloved nieces and nephews: Yvonne Seitner, Centerville, Pamela Williams, Xenia, Bonnie Yancy, Texas, and Diane (Donald) Mills, Chandler, AZ, John Funk, Dayton, Jim (Jenny) Funk, Middletown, and Mike Nibert, Springfield, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sherry E. Funk, four sisters, Ilene Sheets, Erma Nibert, Cora Brown, and Pauline Bickett, and by a brother, Charles Funk. Stan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, August 9, at Spring Valley Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
