Stephen D. Foster, my soulmate and best friend, died November 13 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born November 29, 1957 to Paul and Bonnie Foster. He graduated from Xenia High School in 1976 and was employed as a meat cutter for many years, working for Fulmer and Cedarville Super Valu. He was currently employed at the Greene County Auditor's office. Steve loved working in his yard, treating each flower as a gift from God. His love of books took him both back in time and forward to his place in Heaven where he now resides in peace. Steve and I, Jackie Shaw Foster, were married for 36 years, beginning our journey on June 3, 1978. We have raised 2 beautiful children, Nicole Marie (Kevin) Russ and Tyler Patrick (Lisa) Foster. Our grandchildren, Katelyn Grace Russ and Hannah Nicole Russ, brought joy to Steve's life each and every day that he lived. Steve is also survived by his father, Paul Foster; 4 brothers, Don, Dan (Jennifer), Mark, and Martin; his mother-in-law, Barbara Shaw; 2 brothers-in-law, Mark (Angi) Shaw and Stephen (Christina) Shaw; 2 sisters-in-law, Sandy (Bob) Spurgeon and Susan (Jeff) Wells; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Monday, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Tuesday, November 18, at St. Brigid Church, Xenia, with Rev. John Krumm officiating. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Brigid School, c/o Dee Brown, 312 Fairground Rd., Xenia, OH, 45385, for the purchase of new books for the school library.
