Terry Lee Jackson Pickering, 64, of Jamestown, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. She was born December 22, 1957, in Tiffin, Ohio, the daughter of Donald Wayne and Janet Lee Matson Jackson. She was a 1976 graduate of Xenia High School, a 1980 graduate of Otterbein College, and received a master's degree from Wright State University. She was a longtime music teacher with the Greeneview Local School District and was well-known for teaching her students to enjoy music and for the quality of her school programs. She was an active member of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church and sang in the choir. Terry enjoyed listening to Christian music, singing, flower gardening, and visiting with friends and family. She also enjoyed attending community events and being recognized as a local celebrity by current and former students.
She is survived by husband, Dave Pickering, whom she married July 18, 1981; mother, Lee Jackson; children: Julie Pickering-Campbell (John) - Powell, OH; Kayla (Seth) VanZant - Pittsburgh, PA; and Alex Pickering - Columbus; grandchildren: Emery and Samuel Campbell; siblings: Cindy (Mark) Mash; Tom (Karen) Jackson; sister-in-law, Sue (Jerry) Strickle; several nieces and nephews; and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Don Jackson and sister, Laurie Sue Jackson. Terry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Private services will be held by the family and a Celebration of Life will follow on June 18 th . In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Terry Pickering Memorial Scholarship.
