Obituary

Theodore H. "Ted" Seifert, 83, of Xenia, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Grandview Hospital, Dayton, surrounded by his family.   He was born February 28, 1938, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of Howard and Harriette Eckenrode Seifert. He was a graduate of St. Brigid High School, attended the University of Dayton, and was a member of St. Brigid Church. Ted spent most of his working life in Retail Management.  He enjoyed working on cars, reading, a good western movie, traveling particularly to Sunset Beach, NC and Hawaii, watching NASCAR and Ohio State Football.  He is survived by his wife, Patricia "Patty" (Knisley) Seifert, whom he married March 11, 1961, who lovingly took care of him in his final years, his children Jeffrey Howard Seifert, and Thomas Eric Seifert, of Xenia, and Vicki Lynn (Michael) Spivey, Lancaster, SC, grandchildren, Jordan Thomas Seifert and Halie Marie Seifert, a brother, Ken Seifert, Ft. Wayne, IN, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, who were all very supportive throughout the years,  Charlene and Dennis Cross, Xenia, Marilyn and David Knisley, Xenia, Judy and Bill Wagner, Brookville, OH, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends.  He also will be missed by his furry friend Gigi, who brought him his newspaper and gave him kisses every morning.   He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Sheila Seifert.  Ted was committed and persevered while he struggled to breathe for over 31 years, now he can finally rest in the arms of his Lord.  Ted will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30am Friday, October 1, 2021, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Services will follow at 11am at the Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum, Xenia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a favorite charity in his memory.  The family would like to thank the many caregivers who helped him with his struggle, particularly those at Grandview Hospital, Crossroads Hospice, the Nurses and Therapists at Kettering Home Care, members of the Xenia Township Rescue Squad and Xenia Fire Department for their invaluable assistance.   Condolences may be made to the family at www.NeeldFuneralHome.com .
