Thomas D. Griffis, 82, of Xenia, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Greene Memorial Hospital. He was born December 18, 1938, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of Lester and Louise Darner Griffis. He was a 1956 graduate of Bryan High School, Yellow Springs, and was a graduate of Wilmington College. He was a member of St. Brigid Church, where he served in numerous ministries. For over 50 years, Tom was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1801 and Monsignor Buckley Assembly, 822. He retired from DESC as a contract specialist after working 30 years for the federal government. He is survived by his wife, Judith A. (Baehl) Griffis, whom he married, August 3, 1963, children, Cathy (Bill) Thorner, Cincinnati, Carol (Dan) Keating, Xenia, Connie (Greg) Curry, Florence, KY, Kevin (Tracy) Griffis, Ridgecrest, CA, twelve grandchildren, Alex, Brad, and Elaine Thorner, Matthew, Joey, and Nicholas Keating, Katie, Andrew, and Natalie Curry, Nicholas Monnin-Allen, Thomas and Robert Griffis, a sister, Mary Kay (Tom) Baehl, Springfield, a brother, Steve (Nora) Griffis, Union City, IN, a niece, Ann (Jerry) Miller and a nephew, Michael Baehl, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am, Thursday, March 25, at St. Brigid Church, 312 Fairground Rd., Xenia, with Fr. Andrew Cordonnier officiating.
