Thomas F. Whittington, 90, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, of Xenia, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Kettering Medical Center. He was born December 11, 1925, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of Earl and Lydia Whittington Whittington. He was a member of Daysprings Ministries, Beavercreek, and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He retired from the Borden Milk Co. He is survived by his wife, Muriel "Midge" (Dean) Richardson Whittington, whom he married in 1984, five children, David (Patty) Whittington, Fairfield, OH, Norman (Connie) Whittington, Marlin Whittington, Tim Whittington, and Richard Whittington, a step-daughter, Vicki Martin, and a stepson, Jim (Brenda) Richardson, grandchildren, Jennie (Jay) Sizemore, Heather Whittington, Lindsay Whittington, Troy Whittington, Tracey (Rodney) Wright, Nathan (Aimee) Richardson, Brian (Karen) Richardson, Heather (Dan) Mangan, Angie (Andy) Hinkle, Jessica (Ian) Robinson, and Skyler Richardson, 20 great-grandchildren, by numerous nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Irma Elizabeth (Newcomer) Whittington, on June 3, 1983, a step-son, Mike Richardson, by three sisters, Ruth Ellen Steiner, Elsie May Conger, and Mary Margaret Whittington, and by two brothers, Donald L. Whittington and Robert Whittington. Tom will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 11am Friday, May 27, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor Ken Day officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
